THE MOON
THE MOON is a part of the paired artwork. This artwork opens the world of the giant gods, who gave us a life. And, possibly, they will also open a new path after physical death… We’ll find out.
The Moon slowly floats on waves similar to a girl's braids: the movement inside the canvas space is slow and contemplative. Like an incomprehensible deity, the moon shows us its face, shimmering with mother-of-pearl, sparkling under a crystal haze. This celestial giant is calm and detached. But at the same time, we feel an irresistible attraction and try to see the answers to the most intimate questions in the black depths of moon's eyes.
The physical original was made in a very complex painstaking technique - oil painting and graphic pointillism, used for the fragment that you see now as a flowing steel cloud-ribbons.
What does it mean, a graphic pointillism? A permanent marker leaves millions of dots on a metal acrylic backing).
The graphic fragment changes color and contrast depending on the lighting and the angle of view.
The painting took a month.
