TSAREVNA IS FREE
"TSAREVNA IS FREE" at first sight stands out from the general stylistics of crystallism. In fact, the most beautiful Russian myth is fixed and rethought in this canvas. It is about the tsarevna who possesses magic, about the maiden freed from the shackles of evil returning to her world.
The very essence of crystallism is fixed in this canvas, as a way of transition to the beyond through the mirror facets. In the painting, there is a blind-spot inside its mystical expanse and possibly on the surface of the canvas itself as in an old photography. And only a foggy moon and an opal sunset in the mosaic fragments give out the fact that it is mirrored - due to reflection, the celestial body and phenomenon become complete. The tsarevna, crowned by a star, flies over her possessions and knows no boundaries.
