While we're still here

My blog opens with a Saturday entry made on the morning of March 28, 2020 in the township Agoy, which is located on The Black sea coast. Here I and my seven-year-old daughter Ivanna are hiding in my parents ' house from the impending crowned chaos, which is already changing the world and the former way of life of mankind. This is a global pandemic caused by a new coronavirus. And only lazy didn’t speak on this subject. But I don't want to talk about a pandemic as such. My thoughts are not only about survival in the here and now, but also about the near future, which scares me. What I'm afraid of is that with the overwhelming noise of a new virus rushing at us, my country (and not just mine) will be covered by the iron curtain of totalitarianism, which I have only read about in science fiction writers and in history textbooks. But what does all this have to do with the artist's blog, do you think? The most immediate. And this is what I will talk about in my blog.

If you are traveling to my site, you probably saw in the menu the page CRYSTALLISM. This is a kind of artist's Manifesto, a starting point for a deeper understanding of the subject of my artistic research. If we summarize the ideas expressed in the Manifesto, we will see - it is not the stylistic form of my painting that comes to the forefront, but its content aspect. I am convinced that this period of tremendous change for humanity is directly related to the spiritual life of the Earth's population. Whatever the origin of the virus that attacked us, natural or man-made, it fulfills the most important task – it formats the collective spiritual consciousness! In the Manifesto, I say that historically we are ending the era of the profane, very slowly we are getting out of the religious crisis. Perhaps the epidemic is given to us as a way to accelerate? In any case, at the moment of instability of everything familiar, we return to the origins, as to the eternal stronghold on which man grew and evolved, became large, strong and, it seemed, invulnerable, like a skyscraper from the canvas "ON TNE LAST FLOOR", hiding the sense of the sacred, and perhaps even replacing it with an artful replica.

But the paradox is that the closer we get to the sky and the stars, the further away we are from the ancient knowledge about the structure of this world and the place of man in it. The cosmogonic religion of our ancestors, the pantheon of ancient forgotten gods of the slavs and their cults, mythology as a path leading to the origins and understanding of who we are, where we come from and where we go – all this is the subject of my artistic search, this is the path of my mind and soul.

For a long time, I made my journey alone, offering to the eyes and minds only the picturesque result of some of my research. But now I feel strong enough to start a dialogue with you. I want to tell you what I discover about our shared past. Now I know that my painting, which stands alone, takes its place at the right time and in the right place. I know it was never accidental, like my life. I promise you many discoveries and revelations ahead.
